Digital Content Developer / Reporter | New York, NY

SourceMedia is a leading provider of information, data and software tools for professionals in the financial services, related technologies markets, municipal and capital markets.  We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Content Developer/Reporter to join our digital publication Information Management. Information Management www.info-mgmt.com is the educated reader’s choice for the latest news, commentary and feature content serving the information technology and business community.

In this role, the  Digital Content Developer/Reporter  will coordinate ongoing topical coverage of news, trends and analysis for Information Management. Responsibilities include reporting, editing and blogging as well as collaborating with knowledgeable field experts to originate online editorial.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • On a daily basis, observe, gather comment, compose and post news and analysis of ongoing events and/or trends related to Information Management in multiple digital formats
  • Explore digital content sources and connect with industry contacts to develop content for an expert audience of information managers
  • Collaborate and conduct outreach with an expert community of reader/contributors to support ongoing contributions to this journal
  • Solicit new sources of expertise to make them aware of our community and topics and solicit their authorship and participation
  • Make use of social networking and community resources, in coordination with our marketing and brand management team, to further the agenda above
  • Use rich media and video to create and post content, links and resources created in our own studios across captive and public rich media and social formats
  • Administer, monitor and support digital tools in a self-publishing environment
  • Occasional travel to conferences and other events to conduct interviews, capture video and write news

 Job Requirements:

  • Experience and enthusiasm for IT data and information management and/or strong willingness to learn and engage with an existing and growing expert community of contributors
  • Ability to critically connect technical concepts with a technical and non-technical audience of professionals/experts
  • Self-motivation and enthusiasm to work independently and confidently conduct outreach and gather content
  • Ability to work independently (with training and guidance), explore and identify news
    and trends relevant to coverage or other content development at  Information Management
  • Ability to collaborate with peers, editorial staff and marketing channels to develop and execute strategies to product and audience development and engagement
  • Proficiency with desktop applications, adeptness for online tools, Web applications and social media to search, discover and manage content
