SourceMedia Appoints New Editors To Lead Its Technology Brands

Sector Experts Take Lead Roles at Information Management, Health Data Management and Insurance Networking News

NEW YORK, NY (November 19, 2015) – SourceMedia has appointed new editors to three of its industry-leading business technology brands: Information Management, Insurance Networking News and Health Data Management. These editors bring extensive experience as journalists, analysts and research professionals and share the common mission of elevating content quality and depth, creating engaged communities, and broadening each brand’s suite of offerings by leveraging the company’s events and research capabilities.

The most recent addition to the team is David Weldon, who was named editor-in-chief of Information Management in October. He joins Fred Bazzoli, appointed editor-in-chief of Health Data Management in February, and Nathan Golia, named Insurance Networking News’ editor-in-chief in January. All three report to John McCormick, Editorial Director of SourceMedia’s Professional Services Group.

Prior to joining SourceMedia, Weldon was with FierceMarkets, where he was responsible for the FierceCIO website and newsletter. Previously, he was an editor at Computerworld and has held senior editorial positions at eWeek, Wellesley Information Services and White Digital Media. Weldon also has written for CIO and CSO magazines, CIO Insight, I-CIO, Datanami, and CMS Wire. In addition, he was a research analyst at Aberdeen Group.

Bazzoli has an extensive background in the field of healthcare IT, having held top editorial positions at Modern Healthcare, Healthcare IT News, and, early in his career, as managing editor of Health Data Management. He was the founding editor of Healthcare Finance News. Bazzoli was most recently senior director of communications at the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), an organization of healthcare CIOs and other IT professionals. At CHIME, he produced research reports and supported the organization’s education, policy and certification efforts.

Golia joins SourceMedia from UBM TechWeb’s Insurance & Technology, where he was a senior editor and wrote some of I&T’s most popular articles and blogs. Golia is a frequent presenter and panel moderator at industry events, including the annual Insurance Accounting & Systems Association (IASA) conference. Golia also worked as an editor at both Haymarket Media and Adventure Publishing.

“This is an all-star lineup, and a signifier of SourceMedia’s commitment to, and leadership in, the business technology community” said McCormick. “David, Fred and Nate are subject matter experts and among the best-known editors in their respective IT markets. They know how to grow digital audiences and develop valuable brand extensions.”
