Introducing Digital Mortgage 2016: Innovations in Home Buying and Lending

New SourceMedia event brings together mortgage lenders, new companies seeking to digitize the process, and the investment community

New York, NY – (July 18, 2016) SourceMedia, the publisher of National Mortgage News and American Banker, today introduces a new conference focused on digital innovations in home buying and lending. Digital Mortgage 2016: Innovations in Home Buying and Lending will be held December 8-9 at the Hilton San Francisco, Union Square. The event’s format will reflect the fast pace of innovation in the world of mortgages, with 50 percent of the agenda dedicated to presentations and panel discussions by industry thought-leaders and 50 percent dedicated to technology demonstrations by innovative new companies.

“This event is like no other in the mortgage market,” said John DelMauro, Senior Vice President, SourceMedia Conferences and Events. “For the first time, the mortgage industry will come together to focus on digital innovation– the forces that are making the home-buying process more user-friendly, transparent and efficient for buyers, and more compliant and profitable for lenders and other industry participants.”

Digital Mortgage 2016 will also welcome the investment community: the people and companies who are financing, or looking to finance, the mortgage industry’s digital transformation.

The average mortgage application includes a staggering 500 pages of information, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association – a number that’s rising, not falling, despite the digitization of many other aspects of financial services. Until now, mortgage lenders have taken a fragmented approach to electronic document handling, failing to build integrated, electronic workflows. But today it is feasible to have a fully digital mortgage process that meets regulatory requirements, speeds approval times, and gives mortgage originators a field in which to differentiate themselves.

Digital Mortgage 2016 will provide education and live demos for lenders looking to drive strategic change with technology and bring the entire home-buying process into the digital environment. There are currently more than 150 startup companies focused on all aspects of the home-buying process, including real estate listing, appraisal, loan application, data verification, document storage, compliance, closing management and more. These industry partners, and disruptors, will be invited to demo their game-changing platforms at the event, showcasing their technology for potential buyers and investors in the room.

Digital Mortgage 2016 will feature journalists from National Mortgage Newsand American Banker, SourceMedia’s flagship financial services brands. The event is open to the general media.
